Blackbird Buyers Guide

WHEELSET SELECTION:
Blackbird Cycling wheelsets are typically made to order and require your initial selection of braking style, hub choice and gearing to complete the purchase - i.e. Shimano 12 speed with DT350 hubs and disc brakes. The website lists several key features of each wheelset, however full technical specifications are available via email on request. We can also provide further details on ceramic upgrades and wheels ready* construction if and when available. 

We carry a small range of wheels in stock and in the event that we have the wheelset to match your selection, orders will be dispatched or ready for collection within 1-2 business days. Pick up is available from Blackbird HQ in Hampton, Victoria and can be arranged via email during the purchase process. For regional, interstate and international orders, shipping will be arranged ASAP and tracking details will be provided when they are available.

We intend to carry popular wheelsets to service demand, however stock levels are subject to recent sales and seasonal events and we can not guarantee any items will be available. Custom made wheels may take approximately 4-6 weeks to delivery. We use DT Swiss 350 hubs as standard and most in stock wheelsets will be built accordingly. DT Swiss 240 hubs are considered to be a special order item and will most likely require the 4-6 week preparation period.  

Rim brake wheelsets come with carbon brake pads and QR skewers. Disc brake rotors and thru axles are not included with disc brake wheelsets and must be purchased separately. Blackbird Air, Wing and Stealth wheelsets come with Blackbird Wheel Bags to ensure your prized items are safely stored for race week. 

*Wheels Ready means we complete your setup with tyres, tubes and cassettes installed on your new Blackbird wheels. This service comes at an additional cost depending on the price of components required and can be requested via email.

Australia
Blackbird Cycling wheelsets are made to order and subject to manufacturing and delivery process times which may be approximately 4-6 weeks. A tracking number will be provided when your order has been fulfilled and ready for dispatch. 

Blackbird Cycling offers FREE shipping Australia-wide on all orders over $1,500 AUD. Delivery times may very depending on local carrier service. Shipping costs on smaller orders will be subject to destination and shipment size*.

International
Blackbird Cycling wheelsets are made to order and subject to manufacturing and delivery process times which may be approximately 4-6 weeks. A tracking number will be provided when your order has been fulfilled and ready for dispatch.

Blackbird Cycling offers FREE international shipping on all orders over $2,000 AUD.  Delivery times may very depending on local and international carrier services. Shipping costs on smaller orders will be subject to destination and shipment size*.

International buyers may be responsible for additional import duties, fees and taxes upon delivery of your order. This charge may be determined by your local customs authority. We suggest contacting your local customs office for additional information on these charges. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on your location.

WARRANTY:
Blackbird Cycling offers a 2 year manufacturers warranty on all wheelsets for original owners beginning on the purchase date. This covers any manufacturing defaults occurring to the wheels as a result of intended road cycling use only. The warranty does not cover damage that has been caused by improper use,  accidental damage - such as crash or collision, unauthorised servicing or mechanical intervention, theft or loss. In addition, the warranty does not cover damage incurred as a result of excessive use, such as off road riding and incorrect tyre pressures (above 130psi). The warranty excludes consumable and normal wear components including, but not limited to tyres, tubes, cassettes, brake pads, spokes, bearings and skewers.

We understand cycling is a demanding sport on both riders and equipment and suggest regular maintenance checks by qualified bike mechanics on all cycling equipment, including your Blackbird wheels.
Look for any, 

• signs of damage, chips or surface abrasions
• deformities or imbalances
• loose connections including spokes and hub

The warranty is non-transferrable if Blackbird wheels are sold on to another buyer second hand. Repair and maintenance may be provided at our discretion in the event of a void or expired warranty at the buyers expense. This may include costs for parts, labour and shipping depending on the fix required.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS:
In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your Blackbird Cycling wheelset, you will have 7 business days from delivery date to make contact and arrange a return/refund. The wheels must be unused and remain in brand new condition to qualify for a full refund. 

The wheels must be repackaged and returned in original condition and include all accessories. Once the wheels have been returned to Blackbird HQ, they will be examined for any signs of use or damage and should they qualify, a full refund will be provided immediately. A partial refund will be available at our discretion should there be signs of use or damage to the wheelset.
